Past Legend of Zelda Ads
Ever wondered what adverts for past Zelda games looked like? Wonder no more, as Legends and Adventures explores a back catalogue of Zelda TV advertising from past years and past systems.
My favourite one is the first, advertising the very first LoZ on the NES. Thick glasses, bad rapping, just geeks gaming - those were the days. Days when lines such as;
Nice graphics I’d like to get my hands on that!
were uttered without pause or breath. Lovely.
Awesome! “Your parents help you hook it up.”
They even have a closeup of the uber-geek pushing up his (now almost emo-cool) glasses, and notice how he’s all bouncing in the background while the “cool” kid with the shifty eyes does all the playing. You can tell the only reason they’re friends is because of the NES. When they meet at the school, the cool kid beats the crap out of him and steals his lunch money.
