Controllers - Which is Best?
Infendo has an interesting conversation progressing on the opinion that the GameCube controller is the best controller out. I agree it’s pretty good, and I prefer it over the XBox and PS2 controllers (and the Dreamcast controller), although it still has it’s problems.
The Z button is stupid. I think a trigger style Z1 and Z2 should have been added to the controller, although an even better idea would have been to have left the button off entirely. The C-Stick and D-Pad are badly placed and too small respectively, and the vibration is far too weak in my opinion.
Nicholas Roussos, who’s blog I frequent, and who appears to be my crazy hair and lazy beard double, agrees with the GameCube sentiment. Any opinions out there for or against my evaluation?

I think that the Gamecube control is one of the most comfortable to hold. It’s fitted right for your hand. I don’t mind the z-button, and I’m glad there arn’t two of them. My biggest annoyance with the creative/playstaion controller types are those four damn buttons on the top. I don’t have scrawnly little paws. :P
I love the GameCube controller, but since I only use the WaveBird, I never get to experience rumbling. I would like to see rumbling on the next round of wireless controllers.
Also, I’d kinda like to see them do away with the digital pad and the z button. They’re rarely used and when they are used, they seem to be a little akward.
My biggest complain about the PS2 is also the double shoulder buttons. They look and feel almost exactly alike, and it’s nearly impossible to tell them apart.
With the GC controller, I was a little dissapointed that more games didn’t take advantage of the analog shoulders. I think a lot of cool things could have been with the concept.
